This is a good way to sneakily get children to drink lower fat milk and have fruit at the same time! Soft, slightly over-ripe mangoes are often sold at a cheaper price, so this can be a good way of getting a bargain. There's no need to buy the mint especially, but if you have some at home, you might like to top the lassi with a few sprigs for colour. Note that children under two should be given full-fat milk. For children between two and five you can use 2% milk for this recipe.

Serves:
4
  • 2 large ripe mangos, peeled and chopped
  • 350 ml natural lower fat milk yoghurt
  • 500 ml 1% milk
  • 3-4 mint leaves (optional)
  1. Put all the ingredients except the mint into a blender and whizz until the mango is pureed and the ingredients smoothly combined. Add a little more milk if it is too thick for your taste.
  2. Pour into glasses topped with fresh mint leaves (if using) and add some ice cubes if desired.
